New rotors for more versatility

Continuing our searching for new alternatives that meet the demands and needs of our customers, Ortoalresa has launched two new rotors for its centrifuge Unicen 21, who have provided a significant increase in the number of samples with which to work.

The new swing out rotor RT 260 allows a capacity of 28 tubes, while the angle fixed rotor RT 256, can handle up to 32 tubes. Both have the versatility to centrifuge tubes of 15 ml, 10 ml, 7/10 ml, 5 ml and 5 ml blood collection, reaching a speed of 4.200 R.P.M./ 2.563 xg.

Being a universal, small centrifuge that obtains reliable results in a short time, these new rotors make it a versatile and indispensable equipment for all types of laboratories, industries, research centers, etc.

New rotor for microtiter plates of 80 mm

The trends to use microtiter plates for all kind of procedures, such as PCR tests, it is certainly useful for the high number of results obtained in a single process. The use of this kind of supports all along the process, determines the work of the equipment involved having to be dimensioned for the different dimensions of the plates.

For centrifuges, the main issue is processing high height of the plates, which can reach above 80 mm. Both, centrifugation chamber space and accessories must be designed for these types of supports.

In this sense Ortoalresa launches its new rotor, RT 245 available for refrigerated centrifuge Consul 21 R, which can reaches 4.500 RPM / 3.578 x g and it is suitable for different combinations of individual or stacked plates up to 80 mm in height.
The versatility of Ortoalresa centrifuges is express once again, with the development of accessories that evolve with the lab process.

Method ITA-4: Analysis of Nanoparticle Interaction with Plasma Proteins

The answer of human body to the nanoparticles as drugs and therefore its success depends on the distribution of the plasma proteins in their surface. There are several factors which affects to the proteins distribution and binding, in spite of this is not a random procedure. Therefore the characterization and separation of those which will not assure the best results is essential.

The tubes for that application must have several specs for assure the best results: they must be low retention microcentrifuge tubes. Until now usually were used the 2,2 ml microtubes, however nowadays the best option is move to 5 ml low retention microtubes for a friendly use. The next step is get a centrifuge refrigerated that can reach a minimum speed of 25.000 RCF for those tubes.

The Biocen 22 R with its rotor RT 252 is appropriated for help you to reach the required results. Ortoalresa allows you to get the desired results as expected without interference.

New rotors for 5 ml microtubes

From Ortoalresa we present our new series of angle fixed rotors developed for the new 5 ml conical microtube.
These new rotors have capacity for 12 conical tubes of 5 ml, and can be adapted to four of our centrifuges:

- Rotor 252: Biocen 22 R, air cooling, max. speed 31.865 xg. / 18.100 RPM.

- Rotor 253: Digicen 21, max. speed 26.480 xg / 16.500 RPM.

- Rotor 253: Digicen 21 R, air cooling, max. speed 26.480 xg / 16.500 RPM.

- Rotor 254: Biocen 22, max. speed 21.884 xg / 15.000 RPM.

These rotors also feature a series of adapters, expanding its versatility by allowing the use of several types of tubes. We can find adapters for 12 tubes of 1,5-2 ml; 12 tubes of 0,5-0,6 ml and 12 tubes of 0,2-0,4 ml.

As a part of the launch of this new rotor, it has been included in our new quarterly offer (valid until 12/31/2014), as an option in the configuration of the centrifuge Biocen 22 R (refrigerated), that also include the rotor for 24 tubes of 1,5-2 ml.
