AREAS OF ACTIVITY
Separation for centrifugation formed part of the essential procedures on all kind of labs, in the past mostly applications were health field.OA lab have been cooperating in different specialities , and as results, have developed a tailor made centrifuges which crossed the clinical laboratory border.Nowadays Orto Alresa products are present at reconstructive surgery, tissue regeneration, production of cells cultures, dairy products production, manufactures change of electronical components, ... just a sample we are present:
- In diagnosis: the citocentrifuge assists in the identification of respiratory viruses micro organisms, cancerous cells.
- In the production and modelling of live tissue: cell cultures (in vitro), in bone regeneration and plastic surgery (in vivo).
- At the industrial level: in the manufacturing chain chain of electronic components, quality control (mineral oils, milk products, sewage, etc),
Centrifuges for mineral oils: A small size for a big centrifuge, the Digtor 21 C has a heating system which favours between oil and water according to standard ASTMD-96 for six-inch tubes of 100 ml. Available with two different types of rotors: conical cylinder or pear shaped. Controlled by a microprocessor, temperature can be regulated between ambient +5 ºC to 60ºC, with a temperature probe inside the centrifugation chamber. Max. speed 1.900 R.P.M.( 860 R.C.F.), for the determination of the water and pellet in mineral oils.
Centrifuge for dairy products: The Lacter centrifuge is used for the determination of fats in milk products according the Gerber method. It allows run a wide range of buyrometers; cheese, milk, cream, yoghurt and from differen samples as cow, goat. Speed limited to 1200 RPM to avoid tubes breakage. Control panel with timer and temperature displays. Temperature up to 65 ºC.
Centrifuge chamber made of stainless steel avoids damages produced by sulphuric and alcohols in the event of breakage. Rotors for 8 or 12 tests.
Citocentrifuge: The versatile Digicen 21 allows separation on thin layer, samples resulting of a filtration. The sample is placed on a slide while the filtrates remains on a 2,2 l tubes. The sample may be air dried or stained.
Uses:
- Cytology: reduces costs compared with other thin layer systems.
- Oncology/Haematology: processes suspensions of bone marrow and pheripherical blood. Allows for the detection of minute quantity of cells even those on low concentration.
- Virology: Rapid detection of respiratory viruses such as CMV, ISH, FISH.
- Microbiology: permits the obtaining of micro-organisms from biological samples.
- The filtrate may be recovered for further analysis.
- Prevents the loss of samples during
processing avoiding contamination of the centrifuge chamber. - In a single centrifuge different results can be obtained.
- Refrigerated model min. temperature
– 4 ºC.
- Centrifuge values 2,500 RPM. 839 x g,
RPM 839 x g,should be selected according to the sample type. For LCR between 500 and 1500 RPM is recommended.
-Short centrifuge times of 13 to 15 minutes.
Centrifuge for reconstructive surgery: The Digtor 21 centrifuge forms a part of a new application; the separation of human fat for infiltration according to the technique developed by Dr. Coleman for aesthetic surgery.
With a rotor adapted to work with 4 syringes of 60 ml, with a screw top there is no need for any other type of aditional consumables.
Advantages:
- The surgeon may obtain better quantities of fat in one pass. The fat obtained may be easily transferred to the 1and 3ml syringes for infiltration without the need for any intermediate steps.
- Reduces the sample processing time.
- For the treatment of large areas.
-After obtaining the fat the surgeon may modify the the centrifuge values depending on the fat quality for achive better results.
